Wednesday Kids to Reënact Prayer Walk of the Passion

During Holy Week, the Wednesday kids will step back in time and walk with Christ as they experience the final days of Jesus' life. Dinner will be served at 5:15 p.m. The Prayer Walk of the Passion will begin at 6:15 p.m. All are invited.

The kids will dress in costume and act out the emotional days of Holy Week: Jesus' triumphant entrance into Jerusalem, foot washing, the Last Supper, the Garden of Gethsemane, the trial, the crucifixion and the tomb. The church will be transformed into the various stations. We encourage you to come and see and experience this most moving presentation on Wednesday, March 31.

Holy Week Services Recall Jesus' Passion and Death

The worship service on Passion Sunday, March 28, will begin with the traditional Procession of Palms. Both the children’s and adult choirs will sing.

Wednesday of Holy Week, children and adults will present “Walk of the Passion” at 6:15 p.m. The congregation is invited to observe the reënactment, walking from Gethsemane to the Upper Room to the trial, the cross and the tomb.

Maundy Thursday

Emmaus members are encouraged to join the congrega-tion at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 725 High Street, for a combined worship service at 7:00 p.m. Maundy Thursday, April 1.

We offer a Good Friday worship service in Spanish immediately afterward at 8:00 p.m.

The time for an Spanish-language Easter Vigil service is yet to be announced.

2010 Flower Chart Is Posted

The 2010 Altar Flower sign-up sheets are posted on the bulletin board outside the church office.

We’ll print a dedication from each altar flower sponsor in Saturday and Sunday bulletins. The secretary will phone or e-mail you in the week before your Sunday to ask how you would like the dedication worded.

We offer the opportunity for two households to sponsor either one of the two altar arrangements each Sunday. The cost is still $20.00 per arrangement.

All Are Invited to Sing at Bishop Barrow's Installation Service

All are invited to participate in a Mass Choir for the installation service of Bishop Jeff Barrow, Sunday, March 14 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Menomonee Falls, on Highway Y (Pilgrim Road) two blocks south of Highway 175.

The choir will sing an anthem and will assist in leading the congregation under the direction of Greg Berg from Holy Communion, Racine. The music is all very singable and does not require any preparation ahead of time.

Singers are asked to arrive for a group rehearsal at 1:00 p.m. on March 14, at Holy Cross. Any questions can be directed to Susan Daniels (262-567-9248). We hope you will consider joining us in raising our voices for this festive celebration!

Member Donates Loop Audio System for Hearing Impaired

Thanks to a generous donation from Bea Helding, a “loop system” to enhance the transmission of sound in our sanctuary has now been installed.

The loop, installed July 15 and 16, encircles the nave of the church, and is connected to our sound system. The magnetic field around the wire channels sound waves into the sound system, which sends a signal which can be picked up on any hearing aid device.

Normally, a hearing aid “listens” with its microphone, then amplifies every sound it picks up. But with a telecoil used as the input source instead of the microphone, the hearing aid can “hear” a magnetic signal which represents sound. The major advantage of a using a telecoil is that one can turn off one’s normal hearing aid microphone, and thus limit the sound to that magnetic signal.

By selecting “T-coil” or “telecoil” on one’s hearing aid, one can now hear more clearly – not merely louder -- persons speaking directly into microphones, and also the organ, piano, and singers.
