Children Present Christmas Program
On Sunday, December 18 at 11:00 a.m., the Emmaus kids will present their annual Christmas pageant. This year’s selection, "Census Time in Bethlehem," is a musical about the names of Jesus. The lead character, Mr. B.A. Countable, who is following King Herod’s orders to help conduct a census, becomes confused when he discovers that the special baby Jesus born in Bethlehem has many names.
Rehearsal will be at the church Saturday, December 17 at 10:00 a.m.
Congratulations, Class of 2011!
Congratulations to Emmaus high school and college graduates in 2011! Some of our graduating seniors shared shared their post-graduation plans with us:
- Justin Haman graduates this month from MATC with a degree in Fire Science. He is a volunteer firefighter at Somers Fire Department and works full time at Medacare Ambulance in Milwaukee. He recently had an interview with the Brookfield Fire Department and is waiting for the results of that. He is still living in town with a couple of buddies, one including Brian Field.
- Nathan Lamberton is graduating from University of Wisconsin Whitewater with a B.A. in Inter-personnel Communications. He plans to move back to Racine, where he continues to work at Rogan's Shoes. He is seeking a position in the Sales or Advertising profession.
- Ryan Lamberton is graduating from Horlick High School and plans to attend University of Wisconsin – Parkside in the fall.
To these, and all the graduates we may have missed, congratulations, and best of luck with your plans for this summer and fall!
There's Something on Sundays
Emmaus offers activities for kids in grades 1-7 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Sunday afternoons starting soon. See Rachel Benson.
Souper Bowl of Caring Tops $8.4 Million
As of February 22, over $8.4 million has been reported through the 2011 Souper Bowl of Caring. Emmaus raised $218.54 through a "noisy offering" on February 5 and 6. The money collected at Emmaus has been donated to the Northside Food Pantry.
